Meet FleetMon crew member Diego
in Community by Stephanie DuschaEvery month, we would like to introduce a new team member working at FleetMon. This month, we present Diego of the Data Quality Team.

The work on the different research projects is fascinating, and I like that you can see results at the end.
Your Personal Story
Who are you?
I’m Diego. I come from Ecuador (South America, in case someone opted out of geography at school), but I left my home when I was 19. I lived in Israel for a year. I studied in Rostock and have two children and a cat. And: I walked the Camino de Santiago. You can tell from my interests that I love both nature and the city.
How do you spend your free time?
When I’m off work, I love to travel. Reading is also one of my favorite things to do, especially when I’m on the train. Cities with good museums like Paris, London and Berlin are my preferred travel places. So I would call myself a culture lover. Additionally, I really enjoy learning new things. I like to play soccer in the summer and bouldering in winter – but I also love hanging out in front of the TV to relax. And I love Star Wars.
Your Professional Story
How did you find out about FleetMon?
My friend Jorge Gonzales, who works for FleetMon, too, told me about the company in general and the open position I later applied for. After visiting the career site and going through the recruiting process, I am now working in the area of Data Quality and Project Administration.
How does a typical working day look like for you at FleetMon?
In the mornings, I do administrative tasks such as managing AIS tenders, communicating with project partners to keep project deadlines and meet demands, and processing other incoming inquiries. I have to answer questions from the EEN (Enterprise Europe Network) at regular intervals.
Besides, I take part in networking and project events. I help to organize project meetings and final conferences.
And I am familiarizing myself with managing and processing the academic data requests that we regularly receive from researchers and students of international universities and renowned institutes. The rest of the time I spend on quality management of data jobs. My work so far is very complex and never boring.
