Your Personal Story

Who are you?

My name is Stephanie Duscha, I am 31 years old, and I was born in Neubrandenburg in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. I have lived in Rostock for over ten years now, proudly calling this place my home. I live in the city center with my little son and my boyfriend. I have a fantastic view of the Warnow from my balcony, which I enjoy every morning.

How do you spend your free time?

My free time is limited. I like the beach and the ocean; luckily we have the Baltic Sea right around the corner. Mostly I spend my free time with my family and friends. We go on trips or cook together regularly. Otherwise, I’m interested in everything that has to do with celebrities, fashion and design. Besides I’m always trying to expand my book collection. And I just got myself a used photo camera because I want to try my hand at photography.

Your Professional Story

How did you find out about FleetMon?

After my parental leave, I was looking for a new challenge, and I wanted to reorient myself thematically. When my friend Dominic, who also works here, told me about FleetMon | JAKOTA, she got my interest. I then applied proactively and I am now happy to support the marketing team.

How does a typical working day look like for you at FleetMon?

The first thing I do is check my emails and messages. Then I check the maritime news that our authors write for us. I also look at our social network accounts, answer messages, like photos, and post content on our FleetMon accounts. What follows is different every day. Sometimes I write articles for our sites myself, plan content for the upcoming weeks, or develop completely new formats for our users. There’s always something to do. We are currently in the middle of the preparations for this year’s trade fair appearances, which hopefully can take place. In addition, I work closely with the other departments in our company. At the end of numerous projects, such as research projects, it is my job to process the content for the public and publish it on the appropriate channels.

Your FleetMon Story

What do you enjoy most about your work so far?

Above all, our topics, the tracking of ships and the maritime logistics industry, fascinate me every day. Writing articles and creating content is something I also enjoy. The exchange with colleagues and working together on so many projects is also interesting every day.

Would you recommend FleetMon as an employer?

Definitely! The atmosphere here is very open and warm. Questions are always welcome. Since I don’t come from the maritime industry, I certainly needed a little more training here and there. My colleagues helped me a lot with this. We also cook and eat lunch together and sometimes someone brings cake. Yay!
