Some of them are surrounded by myths and legends. Some of them are real TV stars.
For ages, cruise liners are surrounded by a special aura and they exert a special attraction on people.
In this issue of the Maritime Gallery at FleetMon, we focus on the fastest cruise and passenger ships in the world.
So, thanks to all of our loyal ship spotter out there for these impressive shots!
SS UNITED STATES
With a top speed of 39 knots, the SS United States is still the fastest cruise ship in the world. The vessel was in transatlantic service until 1969. Now it is moored in the port of Philadelphia for more than 25 years.
The QUEEN MARY 2 made it to third place with a top speed of 30 knots.
The top speed of 27 knots puts the NORWEGIAN GEM in fourth place in the ranking.
They are closely followed by the DISNEY FANTASY. She has a top speed of 24.7 knots.
In eighth place is the DISNEY WONDER with a top speed of 23.5 knots.
The top speed of 22.6 knots puts ALLURE OF THE SEAS in ninth place.
Just behind, with a top speed of 22 knots, is the SYMPHONY OF THE SEAS, reaching the last place.
My Photobox Special:
It’s time for the FleetMon Photobox Special! In each of our maritime galleries, we feature memorable photos found in the “My Photobox” of the FleetMon crew members. This time Leoni from our Graphic Design Team dug into her personal gallery, and this is her favorite photo of a cruise liner.
