We had 70% of our net-traffic due to scraping the content trough available interface-ports, so we decided to introduce a scheme of authentification. We expect discussions here, but there seems to be no other smart way solving the issue of dealing with servers under heavy load. In the end we have to secure our fair users and support them with a stable service. There is a good place inside the forum to discuss this topic: http://www.fleetmon.com/community/forum/
see Demonstration and ScreenShots of Fleetmon :mobile here:
The German technical yachting magazine Palstek reviews Mac, iPhone and iPad software for yachtsmen in its current and forthcoming issues. The review is refreshingly critical – not every “i” software makes sense, but some tools are found to be really useful. So is our own Fleetmon mobile. Worth a read!
New version is available from today on! Checkout the new List and Port section. We’ve put a lot of work into even better performance and usability. Multitasking is now supported and all settings are right there, when you restart the app. It should be a pleasure to use it on a regular basis. Our vessel tracking app “Fleetmon mobile” today got selected by Apple as a highlight, featuring it at the startpages of the iTunes AppStore. That is a nice result for the hard work on this software and the efforts to give you the really best in mobile vessel search and ship traffic monitoring.

Late last week we put the finishing touches to a very special project we’ve been wanting to share with you for a while now. After many weeks of burning the midnight oil at JAKOTAs ofice in an effort to squeeze into it every drop of spotting goodness, we’ve finally completed work on the Fleetmon mobile app for the iPhone and sent it over to the nice people at Apple. And now guess what, we are talking about this not as a rumour, but an approved application in the Apple Store. So get your iPhone connected, or fire up iTunes and take a look yourself…
We thought it might be nice to show you a video of what we’ve built so far for you (still in the works, as of my writing…).
We are very excited about our new piece of software for mobile Phones called MobTrack.
It could well support us shipspotters by tracking locations and store positions right into our images.
Putting it on your mobile will give you the opportunity to show your live movements on a web-Page. And when I say live, I mean real-live (ok 3 sec delay between sending and showing). We set up a page to demonstrate the functionality and to download the software for JAVA phones. Free for all, the DS principle. For the time of Beta-Testing I will also show my tracks to everyone, after that phase, we will introduce buddylists. See and try it: www.digital-seas.com/mob
