Maintenance Team starts night shift

Here is an image from our planning session this night, right befire we start the works to switch over the Fleetmon service to a new environment. The team is “still” optimistic, we do have 2 degrees with lots of rain here in Rostock. Best circumstances to start a night shift. Fridge is filled, plans are made…. lets go.

Scheduled (end of year) maintenance 2011-12-14, 22:00-00:00 UTC

Dear friends of Digital Seas, on Wednsday night we will take care for our databases and switch to new cloud based services. This will bring a downtime for our main site, which we estimate with around two hours until midnight.
For about this time , access to FleetMon Explorer and the website as well as photo uploads will not be possible.

Thanks for your patience, stay tuned and be surprised with the results!

All systems are up and running smoothly

new_digital-seas_servers_2011Scheduled Downtime Today until 8 pm UTC
Dear friends of Digital Seas, today we are going to replace two (AIS reception + Image Store) servers.

There will be no access to Fleetmon, no thumbnail views available and no uploads possible in the time from 5-7pm UTC.
We are hopefully up and running a lot faster afterwards, once services will be fully restored.

Thanks for your patience and Stay tuned!

Moving to new Server today…

we are expecting delays and even a short downtime during the day (European time) when moving the site to a new server. Thank you for the patience, we will then continue with better resources and faster response times.

Server downtime this Sunday resolved

A major DOS (denial of service) attack happened this morning around eight a clock and made the DS server unavailable for almost the complete day.
Whoever brought our servers on to its knees, it wasn’t appreciated at all and killed Thomas and Andres sunday.  Attacks happened over the last week in a regular matter, but today they where quiet hard.
Now we are back and will still have to spend some time with analyzing logs and checking the system.

We will anyway release  the long awaited user-message system tommorrow, so you all can get in touch with each other via Digital-Seas. We lost some time with this and a sunny day here in Rostock, but…

old AIS – Sharing server is going offline on Friday, 29th of May 09

our brave two years old server is going out of business on friday, which makes it necessary for sharers still using this server to change the IP to:
193.189.247.193 Port 33000

we have a video on this page, showing how to setup ShipPlotter with the correct sharing option, to send to the new Digital-Seas Sharing Server.

http://www.digital-seas.com/open_space/sharing_ais/sharing_howto_contributors.html

There are three sources still using the old IP, so if anybody is missing a signal from friday on, please let us know and check the settings in your SP program.
